We use Firebase Analytics (_ga cookies) to improve this service — you can decline and everything still works.

Privacy Policy

We treat your data the way we want others to treat ours.

What We Collect

To provide our service, we collect:

  • Your email address and name
  • Your publications (titles, abstracts, links)
  • Your preferences (research focus, tone, target fields, geographies)
  • Contact information for scholars we surface (publicly available information only)

Why We Collect It

We use this information to:

  • Generate your recurring scholarly presence brief
  • Match relevant scholars and visibility opportunities to your research
  • Prepare outreach drafts tailored to your work
  • Create and manage your account

What We Don't Collect

  • We don't monitor your outreach actions (who you contact, what you send)

Email Communications

Loud Camel is an email-first service, so email is how we deliver what you signed up for. We send you two kinds of messages:

  • Service and account email — your recurring brief, scan notifications, and account messages. These are essential to the service and are not promotional. They cannot be turned off while you remain a user.
  • Founder and product updates — during alpha, occasional direct notes from the founder about your account, the product, and your results, as part of the alpha relationship.

Because the service is delivered by email, the way to stop receiving Loud Camel email is to delete your account (from Settings), which also stops every category above. We don't sell your email address or use it for unrelated third-party marketing.

Analytics & Cookies

We use Firebase Analytics (Google Analytics 4) to understand how the service is used and to improve it. Firebase Analytics sets _ga and _ga_* cookies in your browser to distinguish users and sessions.

On your first visit you will see a consent banner. If you decline, Firebase Analytics will not be initialized and no tracking cookies will be set. Your choice is stored in your browser's localStorage (not as a cookie) and can be reset by clearing your browser's site data. For details on how Google handles analytics data, see Google's privacy & terms.

Links in the emails we send you (such as the button in your recurring brief) route through our own servers so we can record that the link was clicked before forwarding you to the destination. We use this only to measure whether our emails are useful and to improve them; this click data is deleted when you delete your account.

Third-Party Services

To provide our service, we rely on third-party providers including Firebase (Google Cloud) for authentication and data storage. These providers process your data to enable core functionality. Third-party providers have their own privacy practices and data handling policies. As our business evolves, additional third parties may be involved in delivering or supporting our service, and their roles and uses of data may expand over time.

Data Security

Your data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS). Data at rest in Firebase is encrypted. However, we are a small operation—no security is absolute.

Your Rights

  • Access: Request a copy of your data
  • Deletion: Delete your account and associated data anytime from Settings
  • Portability: Request your data in a standard format

To exercise these rights, contact us at boris@loudcamel.com

Payments

Payments are processed by Paddle, our payment provider. Paddle handles your payment details and the retention of payment and billing records under its own policies — see Paddle's privacy notice. When you delete your account we cancel your subscription and remove your data from our systems; payment records are managed by Paddle.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as we grow. We'll notify you of material changes via email.
